    3. A company that assists you in credit clean up, reports rents to creditors and helps you buy a home? If so, what was your experience with them? I cant seem to find any review information on them. I cant even find information on the BBB. It sounds like a great program but skeptical about getting scammed.
@ Henry. Yes, I noticed that. They dont even have the security logos or that they are listed w/the BBB on the site.

    7. I assist a family member who owns an assistant-to-surgery business with billing and claim denials. Since he is not an actual physician, but instead a certified surgical assistant, Blue Cross Blue Shield (Federal Employees Program) will NOT allow him to be in-network. They will allow him to bill as a non-preferred or out-of-network provider. He has done this and has had reimbursement going to the MEMBER, which was expected since FEP will not accept his assignment for direct reimbursement. The kicker is they send ALL documentation, including EOBs to the member only. We have been told because we are non-preferred they don’t send EOBs to the provider.

My question is, how can you not send us an EOB if we, as the provider are the one billing to the insurance? End result is that patients are receiving checks that should be then forwarded to us, but unless the patient calls, we have no way whatsoever of tracking down these payments, since an EOB is not issued to us… Is this legal?

    9. We want to map out staff and client locations to be able to better allocate employees to clients – cut down on travel time and expense. In an ideal world any solution would be: a) free of charge b) not on a webmail system such as Google/MSN/Yahoo as our network restricts access c) able to hold information such as address, telephone number etc.

Map would likely need around 200 placemarks minimum. Any suggestions welcome 🙂

    17. Should i recommend to gov not to pay cash funds to any foreign country, but offer them American assistance by practical developments & real supplies of US products or services…?

For example: Africa need assistance, US construction companies could offer Road networks, Car manufacturer should plan Automobiles for Africa, Factory based Home manufacturers can design towns for African communities, US energy manufacturer establish power houses, US financial institutes can offer micro-finance to businesses in Africa…. etc, all this mega plan should backed by US gov funding to American business owners, but conditional to spend in target location or community

This type of home based planning, & localized funding to business can help to create loop of Mega Jobs & opportunities nationwide… fruits of this can be shareable across globe

In simple words, Gov assist nationwide business & encourage them to Act in global markets

do you think this is practical & beneficial advise ?

    18. The entertainment industry is decadent and depraved
      By: John Scala

Broadcast television, the movie theatre, celebrity gossip magazines, the American population is based on and obsessed with constant entertainment. Is it a surprise that we are all nearly worshipping the lackadaisical figures that are part of our daily lives?
Boredom; an obstacle everyone has been faced with, many, on a daily basis. The disorder can not be cured, but can be treated. One of the most commonly practiced treatments is the mindless self-indulgent tool of thought killing, the television. Millions, upon millions tune in every night to escape their daily lives, the exact reason people smoke meth. So as the population stares blankly in to the television screen, and as a coma like trance slowly takes them away from it all, they die, just a little bit more.
Nearly every single one of us is part of the television generation, we grew up on cartoons, and other programs that kept us from being complaint ridden with boredom. Through are adolescence, we grew up with our eyes glued to the screen. Some of us still are watching our favorite programs, instead of socializing, reading, or participating in life. According to an Associated Press sponsored poll taken in 2007, one in four Americans read not a single book the previous year, and seventy-five percent of those who did, read no more than four. The American people are becoming more and more oblivious and idiotic as time passes.
Our countries school system is failing – literally – this is supposed to be the greatest country in the world, so why are our students shown by a statistical average to be around a C average? Some may say the reason other countries, such as: Finland, South Korea, Japan, and Canada’s test scores and average IQ’s are so significantly higher than the U.S.’s is because of the large amount of the immigrant population here in the US. This is true, but only to a certain extent – especially here in Arizona – but I believe there is but one thing to blame; the entertainment industry.
MTV was developed and first broadcasted on a national level during the early 80’s, it has throughout its time on the air, killed more brain cells than every single illegal substance combined. The countries lowering intelligence is even shown through: its most popular genre of music, its favorite television stations, and its favorite movies. Not only are our peers glued to the screen – but our parents, our grandparents, and even our great-grandparents.
“So we don’t go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we live in gets smaller, and all we ask is please, at least leave us alone in our own living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my hairdryer and my steel-belted radials, and I won’t say anything, just leave us alone.” Main character Howard Beale of the movie Network ranted. “So, listen to me! Television is not the truth! Television is a goddamned amusement park, that’s what television is! Television is a circus, a carnival, a traveling troupe of acrobats and story-tellers, singers and dancers, jugglers, side-show freaks, lion tamers and football players. We’re in the boredom-killing business! If you want truth, go to God, go to your guru, go to yourself because that’s the only place you’ll ever find any real truth! But, man, you’re never going to get any truth from us. We’ll tell you anything you want to hear. We lie like hell! We’ll tell you Kojack always gets the killer, and nobody ever gets cancer in Archie Bunker’s house. And no matter how much trouble the hero is in, don’t worry: just look at your watch — at the end of the hour, he’s going to win. We’ll tell you any shit you want to hear! We deal in illusion, man! None of it’s true! But you people sit there — all of you — day after day, night after night, all ages, colors, creeds — we’re all you know. You’re beginning to believe this illusion we’re spinning here. You’re beginning to think the tube is reality and your own lives are unreal. You do whatever the tube tells you. You dress like the tube, you eat like the tube, you raise your children like the tube, you think like the tube. This is mass madness, you maniacs! In God’s name, you people are the real thing! We’re the illusions!”
The television, the movie theatres, and the internet is all we know, they are the ultimate tools of propaganda. Our nation is so fixed, that the television can make or break a presidential candidate, can end or start a war, and to place that much power – in to such few peoples hands. Nothing but corruption can be spawned, so please reader, read a book, read a newspaper, go talk to human beings, but above all of that – turn off your televisions.

    19. I recently joined a legitimate MLM opportunity after years of sorting through other “opportunities” and pyramid scams, I finally found one that is right for me. Most of the books now such as Robert Allens multiple Streams of income and Trump and Kiyosakis books state MLM is the way to go, but they don’t tell you how to build it. I would like to build my network with the online community since I believe that is the best place to network. I am looking for affiliates and or affiliate programs that can assist me in building my business. I do not want to pay for affiliate martketing.

    20. Three friends and I are all professionals in Public Relations, Marketing, Image Consulting, Event Planning and Branding. Though we all work independently we usually assist on each others projects and pool our resourses. One person may be a leader on a particular project and then everyone else falls into place by giving help where it is needed. At times we all work on the same projects collectively, giving our help in whichever areas we each specialize in.

We are now coming together and forming a company which embodies each of our individual businesses yet allows us to work together and pool our resources. Would this be considered an umbrella company?

Thanks in advance for your advice.
Just to clarify we all work together and we share the profits of each project. For instance, if I am the project manager of a particular assignment I would make a little more than everyone else working on that project because I was responsible for securing the job. What I mean by pooling our resources is that we each have our own seperate businesses and along with that comes having our own lists of contacts and our own skills so whenever we have something we are working on we call upon the resources of the others.

    21. Tech giants in human rights deal
      By Maggie Shiels

People using the internet in Beijing
Google was accused of censoring 2% of search results in China

Microsoft, Google and Yahoo have signed a global code of conduct promising to offer better protection for online free speech and against official intrusion.

The Global Network Initiative follows criticism that companies were assisting governments in countries like China to censor the Internet.

The guidelines seek to limit what data should be shared with authorities, in cases where free speech is an issue.

“This is an important first step,” said Mike Posner of Human Rights First.

He told the BBC “What this is is a recognition by all these tech companies, the human rights groups and social investors that there has to be a collective response to this growing problem.

“Companies need to step up to the plate and be more aggressive in challenging unwarranted government interference,” he said.

The initiative states that privacy is “a human right and guarantor of human dignity,” and the agreement commits the companies to try to resist overly broad demands for restrictions on freedom of speech and the privacy of users.

They will also assess the human rights climate in a country before concluding business deals and make sure their employees and partners follow suit.

“These principles are not going to be a silver bullet, but the most important point for me is to provide transparency,” said Danny O’Brien of the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

“We have joined this initiative because we know that a wide range of groups working together can achieve much more than the company acting alone,” said Andrew McLaughlin, Google’s director of global public policy.

      ‘Valuable roadmap’

The impetus for such an agreement follows years of criticism that a number of businesses, including Google, Yahoo and Microsoft have complicity built what has been dubbed the “Great Firewall of China”.

      Screen grab of Skype website
Skype say they are abiding by Chinese laws over internet use

Google has been accused of complying with Chinese government demands to filter internet searches to eliminate query results regarding topics such as democracy or Tiananmen Square.

Microsoft has come under attack for blocking the blog of a prominent Chinese Media researcher who posted articles critical of a management purge at the Beijing News Daily.

Canadian researchers uncovered that a Skype joint venture in China monitored users’ communications.

And a Chinese reporter Shi Tao was jailed for 10 years after Yahoo China provided his personal information to the Chinese government.

Today Yahoo co-founder and CEO Jerry Yang welcomed the new code of conduct.

“These principles provide a valuable roadmap for companies like Yahoo operating in markets where freedom of expression and privacy are unfairly restricted.

      Shi Tao, file picture
Shi Tao’s jailing sparked a controversy of Yahoo business practices in China

“Yahoo was founded on the belief that promoting access to information can enrich people’s lives and the principles we unveiled today reflect our determination that our actions match our values around the world,” said Mr Yang.

While China has been painted as the worst abuser, Colin Maclay of the Berkman Centre for Internet and Society at Harvard University said there are other countries and governments all over the world at fault.

“The number of states actively seeking to censor online content and access personal information is growing.

“And the means employed – technical, social, legal, political – are increasingly sophisticated, often placing internet and telecommunications companies in difficult positions.”

      ‘Business case’

The Global Network Initiative was drawn up by the internet companies along with human rights groups, academics and investors.

Adam Kanzer who is the managing director and general counsel at Domini Social Investments said as well as being the right thing to do, it also makes good business sense.

He told BBC News “When you see the industry being caught up in the tactics of various regimes around the world, the business case is very clear. Freedom of expression and privacy is core to their business.

“They depend on a wide open, freely accessible and secure internet. That’s what they are about. If people don’t trust the internet and believe they are secure, then that is counterproductive to their business.”

      Computer keyboard, Eyewire
The plan has yet to receive the support of internet companies in China

The effort is already being seen by some as not going far enough.

“After two years of effort, they have ended up with so little,” said Morton Sklar executive director for the World Organisation for Human Rights USA.

“It is very little more than a broad statement of support for a general principle without any concrete backup mechanism to ensure that the

    23. I’m 17 and the idea of becoming a copywriter sounds pretty good to me. I start Uni next February, so I was just wondering on how I can get a head start on getting into this field.

What major should I choose? English, Journalism, Advertising, Business?

Whilst at uni, how can I gain work experience to assist in getting a job after I graduate? Where should I apply?

How do you network? I moved to a different country a few years ago, so all my family are on the other side of the world (except my mum and brother). Who/where else could I ask?

What’s the starting salary (in Australian dollars) for a copywriter? After 5/10/15 years?

I live in Queensland, Australia btw.

You don’t have to answer all these questions but if you know anything, please help me out!

    24. My job involves assisting people with developing their resumes and learning to use online job hunting tools. I also do freelance work assisting small business owners who need to upgrade their computer skills to improve their chances of success. The two common factors I see amongst unemployed people are a general lack of resume writing and computer skills. The best way to increase one’s chances of having a career are to study resume writing guides and learn to create a really strong resume, and to take extensive computer skills courses – up to getting your A-Plus certification and getting experience working as a PC Virus Removal Tech or Network Administration Assistant. Are parents aware of this and how prevalent is the focus by parents to encourage their children to develop their skills in these two areas?

B Question: If the private sector is supposedly so freakin’ great, and -in the eyes of Conservatives- so much more effective than public sector employees at getting everything done, then why haven’t I seen a single legitimate course offering from a private sector firm that focuses on these two areas?

    25. I am looking for good ideas for a successful networking mixer. Something that will help everyone with their businesses and assist them in making good connections.

    26. I’m his 2nd wives and really sympathy with my husband coz he needs to take care of his dependant family members especially his 1st wife. She is unable to run the business coz she doesn’t know where and how to start. So in order to survive with the living, I assist my hubby’s business and I did managed well & is expanding the network businesses. Every single matters irregard of internal or extenal matters, I’m to find a solution without troubling my hubby. Even when he has some troubles or problems which need some discussions, I always find a way out for him and that makes him has an impressive & full of respect in me and our marriage.

Sometimes, I sat down and discuss with my hubby, whether any other way that can make her (the 1st wife) to be more independant coz every single minor things will need him to attend. He just sighs and said nothing can be done and said that it is his fortunate to have me in his life. I wish that she could stand on her own feet one day..

    27. I have been told that social networking can substantially help to promote my online business. Can anyone suggest any particular sites where this could be most effective?

    28. When COMPANIES advertise for job openings the salary budget is “Negotiable”. Then they get the employment agencies to help them to source for the same openings but setting different salary budgets for different employment agencies to work on.

Currently employment agencies “Do Not Disclose Companies Name” to jobseekers they represent. Consequently the same jobseeker may be sending to the same “Company” directly or through different employment agencies with different salary budgets.

      1) Now if you are the Company receiving the same CVs from the same jobseeker with different salary budget via different sources what will you think and do with the same jobseeker ?

      2) If you are a Jobseeker, do you think you will get the job ?

      3) If you are the Employment Agency do you think you can close the deal ?

The consequences will be the Companies asking to see more CVs and lose confidence with the jobseekers at large and ended up taking a longer time for employment agencies to close deals. This will affect the survival of jobseekers and employment agencies.

So I urge Employment Agencies “To Disclose Company Names” they represent to all jobseekers from the start to avoid duplicated CVs with different salary budgets ended in the hands of Companies.

Jobseekers and Employment Agencies have to work closely to share information about Companies who are out there to “Test Market” and wasting jobseekers and employment agencies time, effort and money bearing in mind that the Companies do not pay a single cent at all.

By not disclosing and sharing information about the “Companies” amongst employment agencies and jobseekers it will only drive employment agencies and jobseekers into desperation. Companies will take advantage of this weakness and keep setting lower and lower salary budgets for employment agencies to work on. This will further create for frustration and desperation amongst employment agencies and jobseekers. The job market in Singapore is small and the employment agencies and jobseekers have to work “Smart” and not let the Companies “Fool” them.

Employment agencies should not worry about jobseekers sending their CVs direct to their Clients cause most of the Companies have that “Shopping for the Best Candidate” attitude through various sources. At the end of the day it is all about which jobseeker has the “BEST MATCH” in the eyes of the Companies not the employment agencies nor the jobseekers.
Companies may instruct employment agencies “Not to Disclose” their Companies Names to jobseekers so that they are better “Manipulate” jobseekers and employment agencies. Companies usually want to portray themselves as good employers who are willing to pay what the jobseekers are worth for. So they choose to hide behind these employment agencies to “test market” without dirtying their own hands.

I WELCOME PUBLIC COMMENTS ON THIS ISSUE !!

    30. I sent them a resume for a job listed on Craig’s List and got this reply that sounds like jiberish:

    31. I’ve thought of co-branding my spouse and myself as a Team, standing on a street corner with a sign – mom with 3 kids needs job, sending photos of the kids with resume to kid focused companies using their products, just hitting as many companies as possible with my resume – carrying job search business cards and handing those out wherever I go to anybody who would be willing to assist me in networking…..your ideas??? I know I’m getting a bit off the wall here – but I’m just brainstorming and need to pick the best ideas…..I need a job fast – quite desperate in fact.

    32. Okay, so I read about Google’s Clouds and remember that Folding@Home exists on PS3, and I’m guessing that each further incarnation of the Web is meant to lead to a Matrix-like reality where you can easily blur between the real and the digital on the fly. Like, Web 1.0 was when the Internet started, right? Was it about being basic and more individualistic and simple with JUST text and pictures and e-mail than anything else? And Web 2.0 is about turning the Internet into a business-driven network medium, right, with social networking and wikis at the center of this? SO, is Web 3.0 about making the Internet self-aware enough so that it can assist web users based on personal knowledge of the web user? OR is it about making the Internet “simpler” by turning it into one single encyclopedia of knowledge? If that’s the case, wouldn’t either scenario be not desired? If you have an AI that knows you well enough to think 3 steps ahead of you, wouldn’t that be scary? Help me understand pleaz

    33. Why is the first think activists say is ICE audit is tearing families part. Didn’t activists also say better illegal immigration be left up to the feds and when the feds do it,the activists start in on audits are tearing families part and the feds must not enforce immigration matters ? EL PASO — At least 41 businesses in El Paso will be part of a national audit of 1,000 businesses by federal officials looking for immigration violations in hiring workers.

The audit will be among the biggest in El Paso by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a move that drew immediate criticism from a local immigrant-rights group.

The local businesses chosen for audits were not named, but the agency said on its Web site that all the businesses selected for inspection were the “result of investigative leads and intelligence É and connection to public safety and national security.”

The Border Network for Human Rights, based in El Paso, opposed the audits.

“We are saddened and disappointed that two years after the disastrous 2007 immigration raids that tore apart families and penalized American businesses, the federal government is once again adopting a shortsighted enforcement-only approach to immigration policy,” the group said in a prepared statement.

The group also said the federal government should concentrate its efforts on fighting crimes along the border such as drug trafficking and gang activity instead of “harassing hardworking families and business owners.”

Of the 1,000 businesses nationwide, 161 are in Texas. In addition to the ones in El Paso, there are about 60 in the San Antonio area and 40 in the Houston area.

When the audits will take place and how they will be conducted has not been announced.

“ICE is focused on finding and penalizing employers who believe they can unfairly get ahead by cultivating illegal workplaces,” ICE Assistant Secretary John Morton said on the agency’s Web site.
According to The Associated Press, dairy farmers in Vermont were among the businesses getting notifications from immigration officials to turn over payroll and hiring records, said Kelly Loftus, spokeswoman for the Vermont Agency of Agriculture.

Some dairy farmers say they use foreign workers because it is hard to find people locally for the work.

Richard Dayoub, president and CEO of the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, said, “They (ICE) are really taking an effort by their part to understand the depth of the problem. I’m not sure what they will accomplish.”

At the same time, the Homeland Security Department announced it would give a seal of approval to businesses volunteering to use an electronic program to check workers’ immigration status.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Thursday that the public should know which companies are following the law. The problem is that the program known as E-Verify is still under development, and the law does not require employers to use it. They are required to use a paper system.

E-Verify is an Internet- based system that allows employers to voluntarily determine the eligibility of new hires to work in the United States, using information provided on the employee’s I-9 form.

The E-Verify campaign is being promoted by ICE as a way to help employers maintain a legal work environment.

“All employers have an obligation to assure that they have a work force that complies with the law,” El Paso Mayor John Cook said. “They E-Verify system will implement technology to assist employers with that responsibility.”

Cindy Ramos-Davidson, CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, said she felt that the E-Verify system was not up to speed, and that all it took was one small error to set up a business for litigation.

The last nationwide audit conducted by ICE resulted in 14,000 suspicious documents.

The Border Network for Human Rights said in its statement that it “hopes that the Obama administration will rethink this outdated strategy and keep his campaign promise to implement comprehensive immigration reform.”

Why do activists feel illegals should not be held to any standard in the work place and ICE should not bother illegals even when they use document , stolen documents as such documents enable illegal to have a better life and current laws are unjust. People feel its ok to break laws without any punishment since what they are doing is offering them a better life ? Is this how
activists believe our immigration laws must be directed ?
Why is the first thing activists say ICE audits are tearing families apart.

    35. I have to write a report on the top 5 security issues on today’s networks but I’m having a hard time coming up with some of them. I have three so far and they are:
      1. Worms and viruses
      2. Information theft
      3. Out-dated software

If someone could give me two more that i can work with I would be very grateful

    36. I want to hire a computer specialist who can help when a client is being stalked on the internet to find out who it is, email origin tracing, assist some of our business customers with simple stuff like employee monitoring, chat room log monitoring, basic internal security…you get the idea.

How would I word an employment ad that would get the right person with the right skills for this job?

    37. but she also wants major in theater because she is very interested in acting and stage directing. She is skeptical about changing her major because she heard a lot about the myths by majoring in theater does not gurantee instant sucess plus her father believes theater is a waste of time but she really wants to study theater. I told her she can minor in theater but she wants two degrees plus she said the workforce does not look at the minor she believes double majoring gurantees more marketabilty. So I am asking anyone can she double major in theater and media business and how is double majoring going to be like for the college student especially for her pursuing two rigourous fields.

She is getting a Bachelor in Science for Media and a Bachelor of Arts for Theater will that make a major difference.
