Down with the flu

Posted on Friday, March 13th 2009 3:02 pm by menj in Offbeat

Today I have been doing nothing but sneezing every few minutes or so and I am suffering from a running nose. Pretty sure that I have the flu, or at least am about to get the flu. The Treatment for Symptoms is fortunately very easy as this is merely the signs for a full-blown flu. So the whole day today, I did nothing but drank a lot of fluids and it seems to be working in helping my body fight the flu.

You may think that just because I have the flu, this means I have to take the day off. Well, the answer is no, I don’t. All I have to do is to take things easy and rest a lot. But I still have to face the laptop in order to finish some blogging job offers that I have delayed due to other commitments. In fact, I don’t mind doing this at all as working as a full-time blogger is really a liberating experience. Its certainly something that everyone should consider doing!

Not everyone knows about healthcare systems and treatment for symptoms, so a thank you letter to Mr Neumeister at DocStoc is just appropriate in order to acknowledge this top California healthcare executive whose skills include hospital management and other CEO capacities. Or is that only because you’ve had the flu for a while or are getting over it?

      I’m frequently down with flu,
but i dont visit the doctors ’cause my mum inisist i take tablets which we already have.
They are prescribed by doctors and unfinished.

I also get blocked nose almost every night when i go to sleep.
It troubles me a lot and i face difficulty getting to sleep.
It takes me about 2 hours before i fall asleep,
so i have pretty bad eye rings.
Also, it makes me get sore throat.

      What should i do?
My mum says its normal for me,
cause i get flu almost everyday.

They were throwing up everywhere and white as a sheet. When I took them to the hospital doc said because it was a baby pool that they might have gotten sick because no bleach was in it.

Its less deadly and effects less people then the normal flu… You can get over it more easily and has only killed the same people that are likely to die from the regular flu. I get that we don’t have a vaccine for it but we don’t have one for diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc… either, all of which have higher kill rates. Why aren’t those declared national emergencies?

I share an office with a co-worker who came down with flu. She has the pink eye and everthing else. I have gotten the flu so many times that I know when I am starting to get sick. I have a runny nose, my head aches a litte, and my thoart is starting to get sore. I just took some daytime cold medicine. What else can I do to stop me from getting the flu. I plan on getting the flu shot at the end of the month ( doctor’s appt already set). Anything that will help. Thanks.

My mother said she suspects the flu, but I don’t know I’m not a doctor. First night I was extremely PAINFULLY nauseous and was up until about 1:30 throwing up everything in my system. I have been going easy on food. So second day was a bit less nauseous but with light headedness and massive headache. No fevers or anything. Today I feel better than the first but I can feel I’m still sick. And I keep getting nosebleeds.. Weird!

I’m writing a paper about education in America, and I need an opening anecdote. I’d like a story about a time when a public school either did not meet expectations or failed dismally.

I believe the detective novel is one of the original hard-boiled ones. The detective (I think) tells an anecdote about a man who has just missed being killed by an object falling from a tall building; the man immediately abandons his life, job, and family, and moves elsewhere and starts a new life. What is the novel?

I came down with the flu on Thursday and got on Tamiflu that day. Have been feeling fine since yesterday, other than body aches. No fever since Friday. I know this is more of a question for a doctor, but is it normal to still have body aches without the fever? I’m asking because I want to make sure I’m okay to go back to work tomorrow. Thanks!

I’ve come down with flu and cannot fly early tomorrow morning. Is there anyway I can postpone the trip to any other dates the airline chooses,
      without paying extra
I just called and someone did answer and were very helpful but I do have to fax a medical certificate to them which isn’t a problem. Thanks,
