Google is updating their PageRank!

Watch for that tiny green bar in your Google toolbar. Google is updating their PageRank now. I can see a tiny green line for this less-than-one-month-old blog now, and I must say that I am pleased with the results. But its too early to have a celebration bash 🙂

I have read that there is a compatibility issue with using Google Toolbar with IE8, and I use Google Toolbar. Am I better off going to IE7? The last time I tried to use IE7 several years ago, it locked up my computer. But I am getting notices from some sites that they aren’t going to support using IE6 anymore.

I know how to use google for searching any keyword but when we search any keyword, search engines consider so many factors for SERPs such as back links, urls and titles of the pages. But I need to know how to search in google for the web pages which contain a specific phrase in the body of the page and not in the url or title.

A lot of websites, when visited, try to force google toolbar on to me.

I have no objection to google toolbar, but I’m already using it. So why nag me to allow its installation?

Any ideas on how to prevent the, “This website wishes to install the following – Google Toolbar” message?

I was searching for something and accidentally clicked on the wrong toolbar, resetting my Google toolbar to default. I use Mozilla Firefox. Now I’ve lost my speed dial which I would very much like to have back. I downloaded and installed it but I don’t know where it is because I cannot find it? Can anyone tell me how to find it and reset it on my Google toolbar, please? Thank you.

Has any one experienced trouble on their machine that they think is related to installing Google Toolbar? Tech support thought it was part of my problem (tons of unwanted files on my comp), but Google Toolbar is so darned convenient.

I have recently launched a new website. I just want to know how long does it take for Google to recognize backlinks to my site. I am currently generating backlinks by posting on different forums, blog commenting and directory submission. It has been a week now but still there are 0 backlinks to my site according to Google.

Yahoo is relatively quicker than Google in recognizing backlinks. Does anyone have any idea how long does it take for Google to recognize backlinks to my website?

Or do you think Google has good intentions or a bit of both?

Keep in mind, Google does not make much money in China and this kind of publicity will probably increase revenue better than regular Chinese annual revenues for the company.

I am able to get the standard Google toolbar for Explorer but not for Firefox. Why is this? The Google toolbar has an application for locating specific key words in a text which saves a lot of time while researching. I looked for this application for the Yahoo toolbar but didn’t find it.

There’s this new thing called the Google Toolbar new tab page. Whenever you open a tab, there’s this thing that shows up and there will be nine squares, each showing a screenshot of your most frequent sites that you’ve been going to. When I restarted my computer, it wasn’t there anymore. I tried to do the wrench thing and enabled it, but it didn’t work after I checked the little box.

      Please help me!

11 points to the answer that works!

I started having a problem with the Google toolbar yesterday. I can still use searches but when I type anything I don’t see the search queries. I didn’t disable this feature though, and I checked in my preferences to be sure. Google queries are still supposed to come up but they don’t. Any advice?

The blackout has forced a question: If Google, or another high-usage portion of the internet, were to change their policies to be more active in voicing their opinions about public matters in ways which you were either for or against, would they effectively have too much power over our democratic process?
Google can do other things to protest besides shutting down, however.

I want to learn how to erase only one item from my google toolbar at a time. If I right-click I can erase the entire search history, and I can delete the one item for the moment, but technically it is still there (like when you type the letter L in the google bar and all the words that have been googled that start with an L drop down). Any ideas?
Also, when the recent searches drop down it is not the ‘search suggestions’. This item is not selected therefore is not working.

How do you get your page rank higher on a blog? Is it from how many visits you have or how often it is seen on google?
