Herbal vaporizers

Posted on Tuesday, December 11th 2007 3:17 am by menj in Offbeat

I have been reading about herbal vaporizers and what do they do in contributing to general health and well-being of the smoker. Vaporizers, from what I understand, are primarily used to vaporize herbs in order to avoid irritating or dangerous toxins for the respiratory system which are present in herbs or tobacco which are released by smoking. How it works is that these herbs or tobacco is heated to a certain temperature at which the active ingredients present in them will vaporize without undergoing combustion.

There are of course many types of vaporizers which one can check out at the products store. Herbal Grinders, for example, are very interesting. One should keep in mind however that special care should be taken when choosing an appropriate product, the quality of the vaporizer should be kept in mind as the device can be damaged if it is made of plastic. If properly used, a herbal vaporizer can be a very useful tool and enables a person to enjoy the pleasure of smoking without any of the harmful effects associated with it.

I’ve asked this before, but everybody said marijuana.
      – Don’t get me wrong, I use it for weed. In fact, I’m legal here in Montana. I’m just curious as to what other things they’re used with. I kinda need names if I’m going to search for it…which I may or may not do. I’m pretty high.

Wouldn’t it depend on the material you are vaporizing, as to which substances vaporize and which are left behind?

Is it just pure coincidence that the toxic chemicals have a higher combustion point?

What are the characteristics of a “safe hose”?

How do you know if hose is letting off fumes (taste/smell)?

I boiled the rubber hose and glass components in water for a few minutes to remove glue and stickers. The hose became much softer but did not change form or colour. After a few days the hose is slightly softer than when first purchased but mostly the same.

I do not know if the hose is NSF or FDA approved or whether that would even make a difference.

      Any intelligent feedback appreciated.

Looking to buy a Herbal Vaporizer. I think I am going to go all out and get a really good one. Maybe a Volcano, Super Vapezilla, HerbalAire (which is only like $299)… I might even go a bit cheaper with something like the Silver Bullet, Hot Box, Voodoo, or something like that.

I need a site that can give me good advice, and offer a good selection of herb vaporizers. Any advice?

Need advice and somewhere I can buy them

a herbal vaporizer releases the substances in certain material like herbs for medical reasons to be inhaled

I currently have a Vapor Brothers Hands-Free Vaporizer which works great, but I was just wondering what everyone thinks is the best vaporizer? The Volcano? The Silver Surfer? What do you think?

I’d like to spend 250$ or less, but if there is a big difference in efficiency or time it takes to heat up I’d rather save longer and splurge. Anyone with any advice? I’m new to vaporizing.
