How to fax your documents to PayPal?

Posted on Thursday, March 29th 2007 11:42 am by menj in Payment Gateway

Earl-ku of kukujiao.com asked the following question:

how do i fax to US? i would have to gooover the tm shop and apply for international dialling, which i ammnot sure how much thats gonna cost me, only then will iibe able to fax to overseas number …

You don’t have to subscribe to the international dialling package offered by TM. Just go to any TM branch or TM Point and ask them for their fax services, they will charge RM12.90 per page. I went to the TM Point in Kajang and that is what they told me, only thing is that I couldn’t fax my 5 pages documents in the end because they are experiencing a problem with their fax toner. Heh, why does that last line sound so familiar?

I purchased MS Office 2010 from eBay which turned out to be a fake product shipped from China.
So I filed the dispute with Paypal but its process is very bureaucratic. After 3 weeks of the filing, Paypal requested to fax a document proving the software is not authentic, which is obtained from an unbiased third-party with a letterhead that includes the name, address, and phone number. And I have to submit it within ONE week! Paypal really sucks.
Where/how do I get such a document? Does Bestbuy or Staples provide it (I am in US)? If so, do they charge for this kind of authentification services?

Your opinion/experiences with similiar cases will be much appreciated!

11/14/2008 04:02 PST – PayPal: Seller escalated this dispute to a Claim.

11/14/2008 04:02 PST – Seller: he sent me a email about this player: Hi, I received the player but the package is very poorly packed, it’s shipped in an envelop which provide no protection against any kind of external impact. I had a following problems with the item:
      1. The CD was broken during shipping, apparently due to poor packing.

      2. you listed an additional USB cable for the player, in which case I’ll get TWO usb cables. After I receive the package, you told me the original cable sometimes has problem when transferring data (didn’t mention this in the list)

      3. It looks like the screen of the player is slightly flashing, make it annoying when playing video. (I had one same player before, I think this player’s screen is not normal to my best knowledge).

      4. Listed the player as “great condition”, but the mp3 player shows very serous wear.

      1. the cd was put into the BOX the zen came in and was very well packed.

2.as you know, as items eventually wear when used for years, now the sync cable that came with the zen was 3 years old. and sometimes depending on how you attached it to the usb, would sometimes hault syncing for a second. So what did i do out the goodness of my heart, i went and spent my own money and bought him a brand new perfect conditioned sync cord, so he would run into no problems

      3. yesterday he mentioned the cd was broke, and now he brings up this morning that the screen is flashing. THE SCREEN WAS FINE! I HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE IT! THE ONLY WAY I SEE THERE BEING A PROBLEM WITH THE SCREEN IS THROUGH TRANSIT.

      4. i described all the flaws in the player in the ebay listing: ( minor scratch on screen and a few light scratches NOT EVEN VISIBLE AS U CAN SEE FROM PICS & a bit of leather coloring rubbed off on the back due to it being in the case. Not visible at all when put into the case.

      5. i said all sales were final, no returns or refund in the listing. It even stated the shipping method, should have added insurance which i had available for him as optional.

      11/13/2008 21:16 PST – PayPal: Shengyong Qin requested a $95.00 USD refund.

11/13/2008 21:16 PST – Buyer: The package is very poorly packed, it’s shipped in an envelop which provide no protection against any kind of damage. I had a following problems with the item:

      1. The CD was broken during shipping, apparently due to poor packing.

      2. The seller listed an additional USB cable for the player, in which case I’ll get TWO usb cables. After I receive the package, the seller told me the original cable sometimes has problem when transferring data (he didn’t mention this in the list)

      4. The seller listed the player as “great condition”, but the mp3 player shows very serous wear, can by no means called “great condition”

      5. I contacted the seller, he refused to take responsibility for the poor packing (like damaged CD), claiming it’s USPS’s fault. I’ve already contacted the seller through Skype, he refused to take responsibilities. I want to dispute this charge and will return the player for full refund. Very disappointed.

and yes i have delivery confirmation showing it was delievered, this is a item not described case.

how do you think this case will go???

cause first off as u can see in my ebay listing i state the item has scuffs in the appropriate section, and it has black die on the back from the case rubbing off on it. and that the scuffs are from the case and player friction and not from misuse.

some people are telling me this doesnt qualify as item recieved SIGNIFICANTLY different then advertised

      due to:
      1. the cd doesnt affect the player in anyway
      2. the extra transfer cord is sufficent and b
i read somewhere that paypal doesnt honor no return policies from sellers is that true?
THANK YOU FOR THE CORRECTION FO THE TITLE. IM THE SELLER NOT THE BUYER.

and i didnt sell a bad piece of equipment. as you can see in his listing of the issue, its a cd, and a cord which i included a brand new one because the other one acts up. the cd doesnt affect the use of the player its just software which no one uses, they use WMP instead, and i packed it appropriately, in a flat rate evelope which was free shipping for him, i mean if he felt the evelope would provide poor protection he should have bought the insurance, but now im being told, that its my fault he didnt buy insurance, because im the seller, all this time i thoughtthat was the buyers problem., i guessed wrong. the item worked PERFECTLY. he hasnt stated doesnt work. he just says the condition isnt the same as what i showed and described which i cant see how that is as i describe any and all flaws.
i think some people are missing the point here. HE ISNT SAYING IT ISNT WORKING. HE SAYING THE CD IS BROKEN. AND THE THING REGARDING THE CORD, IS sometimes the orginal cord works as things become buggy after years of use, so i included a brand new one to keep that from happening. and not to menton he can still use the player, THE CD DOESNT PLAY ANY ROLE OF THE FUNCTIONING OF THE PLAYER. HAS A WORKING BRAND NEW SYNC CABLE SO WHAT THE HELL IS THE PROBLEM? so how does this apply under ITEM SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT THEN DESCRIBED???
i stated that it has flaws accordingly. the only thing i left out that i thought i had included was the cord thing. but thats irrelevant due to the working sync cable

so i mean, what the heck is the problem. and my item description is over thetop in your opinion, i mean what else do you execpt. im trying to be the one picked out of 100’s of sellers.

and my reason with the no refund. i once had a buyer get the item strip the motherboard and return it =(

I have changed the country for holidays, and I decided to buy something through paypal.
But they blocked my account (as it was an IP in a different country), so I had to do some things to them to unblock it, but there’s one step that I’m not sure how to do it.
      It says this:
Please send a copy of one of the following documents:
Utility Bill (gas, electricity or water)
Bank account or credit card statement

I have almost all clear, except for the “credit card statement”, what does it mean with this? I really don’t know what it means, and I have to send it by fax or email…

I don’t want answers about how to do it, I just need to know what I should send (so I need to know what “credit card statement” means, and it asks me for it in general, not for an specific transaction)

Thank you so much for the help!

Read this:these are the exactly words that shows on my paypal account:
Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):We have observed activity in this account that is unusual or potentially high risk.
And the funniest thing is I can add funds to my paypal account but I can’t send/requested money.I mean if I can’t send a payment, why the hell do I need to add funds to my acct and let them keep it,and there’s no way I can take the money unless the problem’s solve.

HAS A WORKING BRAND NEW SYNC CABLE SO WHAT THE HELL IS THE PROBLEM? so how does this apply under ITEM SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT THEN DESCRIBED???
i stated that it has flaws accordingly. the only thing i left out that i thought i had included was the cord thing. but thats irrelevant due to the working sync cable

so i mean, what the heck is the problem. and my item description is over thetop in your opinion, i mean what else do you execpt. im trying to be the one picked out of 100’s of sellers.

and my reason with the no refund. i once had a buyer get the item strip the motherboard and return it =(

im getting frustrated b/c i am trying to buy an ipod on ebay (the older generation, i hate that tiny new contraption in stores) and before i could pay for it paypal froze my account and i cant send money. i told the seller about it and he is waiting.
i already faxed my photo ID to confirm my location plus the cover sheet over 12 days ago and i recieved a confirmation email from paypal that they received my documents. they said they’ll process them (each or both idk) in 3-5 business days.

well its been way over that & still no response. my account is frozen. i feel like calling paypal but im afraid they’ll act like a b*tch and make me send more documents (it happened to someone before) & they;ll have a looong hold time

i dont have much payment options for the seller (i asked) and im tired of waiting forever. what can i do about this how do you unfreeze your paypal account in a situation like this. its ridiculous

dont tell me to use another payment option its a hassle

Hi, about a month ago I bought a DVD set (Entourage Season 3 Part 2), the problem is, as many of you know, that the set doesn’t even come out until October this year. I didn’t know that then and the auction wasn’t for a preorder copy. So I paid w/ PayPal and rec’d the item. It was clearly a copy and it was burnt with the seller’s handwriting on the DVD. PayPal sent me this email (below) after I escalated the claim to a dispute. The question is, how do I get someone qualified to fax them? This is outrageous.

In order to continue with the investigation of your complaint, we must request documentation to support your claim that the item is not authentic.
Please obtain a document from an unbiased, third-party, such as a dealer, appraiser, or another individual or organization that is qualified in the area of the item in question (other than yourself), which clearly identifies the item as not authentic. If possible, the document should include a serial number and description of the item

I bought four copies of Pokemon Platinum from ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayI.....K:MEWNX:IT ), which arrived and are clearly fakes. I went to Paypal for a refund and instead after over a month of waiting I get:

include a serial number and description of the item, and must be on
letterhead that includes the name, address, and phone number of the

Very disappointed.

some people are telling me this doesnt qualify as item recieved SIGNIFICANTLY different then advertised

      due to:
      1. the cd doesnt affect the player in anyway

My paypal account has to be manually verified , so i need to fax paypal some documents . Now i have heard about the coversheet that it has to be printed from your account and that it has a barcode on it . But in my case they (paypal) are saying that a simple page with a subject line , my complete name , my paypal email id would be enough . So should i go ahead and fax them these documents . Is paypal fax machine monitored 24 hrs a day ? Any help is much appreciated .
