I must be cursed or something
Either TMNet is really, really incompetant, or Allah Almighty wants to test my patience, or I must be cursed or something. Or it could be all three at once, who knows.
In any case, the DSL light to my modem is off. For the upteenth time, again. Of course I reported the problem to Streamyx TMNet Centre, but since it will only be attended to “within two working days”, it looks like it is going to be the cybercafe for me this weekend.

If there was a recent thunderstorm in your area recently, it might be an indication that your modem has been struck by lightning.
Try loaning a functional modem from a friend to see if this is the case.
