Statement of the day
Maxis, Maxis, here I come!
Maxis, Maxis, here I come!
So TMNet does a triple on me and my DSL light went off last night. I made a report and this afternoon they called me and told me that this is a problem affecting many areas in the Klang Valley. Yeah, right. If so, then why is this cybercafe I am in working fine with their internet access?
Sheesh, I just don’t get it.
Either TMNet is really, really incompetant, or Allah Almighty wants to test my patience, or I must be cursed or something. Or it could be all three at once, who knows.
In any case, the DSL light to my modem is off. For the upteenth time, again. Of course I reported the problem to Streamyx TMNet Centre, but since it will only be attended to “within two working days”, it looks like it is going to be the cybercafe for me this weekend.
Its back up again after yesterday’s problem surfaced. I just checked about ten minutes ago and the DSL light is no longer off. Phew, I was wondering when they would actually fix the internet line. They must have done it without me realizing it.
Finally I can blog again with a clear conscience. In the meantime, I am going to go into Guild Wars. There are some missions which I need to complete.
Now I’m back in a cybercafe just like I was a week ago because the DSL light in my modem is once again off. There was a lightning storm yesterday so it was no surprise that it actually happened. I’ve tested with two different DSL modems and both provided the same result. The conclusion from there is from hence on rather obvious.
I’ve already filed a report at the Streamyx Support Center but learning from my experience the last time around, I am going to go to TMPoint Kajang to follow up on the issue. I find that action much more effective in restoring my connection rather than lying around in wait for their technician to give me a call.
This is deja vu all over again.
Finally after nearly a month of agony, desperation and cybercafe-hopping in order to have a few hours of internet access, TMNet finally restored my home access at long last. What was initially supposed to be “two working days” turned out to be four weeks, but what the heck. All I did was to take the initiative and paid a visit to TMPoint Kajang to complain about the inaction I experienced for my report number 4197850. I made the complaint at around 11 am. TMNet took action and service was restored at around 4pm. That’s less than 12 hours. And certainly much more less than the time (and cost) I spent calling 1-300-88-9515 and harrassing the officials there about my case.
So the lesson of the day is simply this: don’t wait for their call after making your report via their TMNet Streamyx Centre. Lodge your report and then pay a physical visit to your nearest TMPoint. If you don’t do that, they will take things for granted and will be “sleeping on the job”, so to speak. Believe me, I know.
