Maybank VISA debit internet transactions to be enabled

There is good news for those who are looking for a debit card to do online transactions or to verify their PayPal accounts. From a communique that I have recently been privy to (made available to me by a little bird who works in Maybank Credit Card Centre), I was made to understand that Maybank is going to activate their internet transaction acceptance feature for their VISA debit card on the 14th of March 2009. However, this activation is only for internal purposes and the public will only be able to enjoy this feature a week later.

Currently, the Maybank VISA debit card is only able to make purchases offline and does not work with any internet transaction. The reason why Maybank delayed this feature for so long is because of card fraud and they needed to ensure that the security checks are in place.

This latest development is certainly something to look forward to, as Maybank is already a big player online with their Maybank2U internet banking, which also offers among others online Mortgage Loans. I am very sure that this card will be able to be used for verifying any PayPal account and withdrawal from it. This is something that I had really longed for a very long time. Kudos to Maybank for this move and I am sure they will be a major player in the debit card industry very soon.

I wanted to know if my 12 year old son could get a debit or credit car. I prefer a debit for him. If he can’t get one at his age are there special cards for him. I want him to keep a debit card in his wallet and use it when he needs it. An other thing do you need to pay for a debit/check card. Does it deduct from what you have in your account. Also whats a prepaid credit or debit card?

Someone stole my debit card out of my mailbox and used it, $700.00, and I know who did it. What type of punishment will that person receive?

What’s the difference between paying online through a checking account’s debit card and paying online through PayPal? What are the PayPal advantages over the internet paying methods existent before PayPal came along?

Is Visa debit card having the same function like Visa credit card?
I don’t want to apply a credit card because I don’t want to be charged RM50 ‘credit card tax’ by the govt.
I now have a Maybank ATM card that allows to do internet transaction. But I can’t buy a Dell laptop or book Tune Hotel room because they request me to pay using Visa credit card. Do they accept Visa debit card?

I want a debit card so I can start shopping online, and so I won’t have to ask my mom to use her credit card. I have my own money that I want to use online, but first I want some kind of card. I know to get a credit card you have to be 18+ but how old for debit?

I tried using my debit card at a store; however, it asked for my PIN, which I am ashamed to say that I don’t know. The cashier said I could just pay with credit using my card, which I hesitantly did because I didn’t want to walk out empty-handed. I’m working on receiving my PIN, but now what do I do with this credit? Will it just be withdrawn automatically as with any other debit payment or do I need to do something?

I don’t have a bank account, but I have one of those reloadable wal mart debit cards, and I was wondering how to transfer money from my paypal account to the debit card. Also, I can’t link the bank account to my pay pal account because I don’t have a bank account. How do I link the debit card to my paypal account?

My visa debit card says it’s active. First time to use it, no money. What do I need to do to make a purchase in a store?
