My bid directory is sold!

Posted on Tuesday, July 10th 2007 7:48 pm by menj in Directories

I am no longer the owner of Bid Your Links, the bid directory has been transferred to the new owner’s server this morning and the transaction is almost completed. All is left is for the $$$ to be transferred to me. I feel a little sad to let it go but considering that the sale is worth USD1.5K, I suppose it is well worth it.

Now I am starting on a new bid directory project and I have instructed my web designer-coder to design a template for Bid Your Web. The name of the directory was suggested by my darling, so I decided to take that name. If you want to submit your websites or blogs to the new bid directory, you can do so. I will spend at least USD300 on promoting this directory, it will be bigger and better than the last one.

How do you put a file in a file in UNIX. Ex. In directory Water Project is file Menu, and in file Menu is files Add, Remove, and modify? I only know how to put files in directories.

Also is there a command to make a file specifically a data file and not just a text file, i.e $> vi filename.

I have tried for around a month to add my website to the open directory project, using the correct methods, from the correct areas of the directory. However, I always get an error…saying come back in a few days. This has been going on for several weeks! Does anyone know why this is, or if I’ll be able to add my site in the future?

My site is http://www.dreamofrussia.com and the error page I always get is http://www.dmoz.org/unavailable.html. I want to submit to the shopping/ethnic and regional/european/russian area, but have also tried other areas with no success.

Any help / information would be appreciated, thanks!

Is it legal for the management of a hotel to remove an entire section of advertising from each and every Yellow Pages directory placed in their guest rooms simply because the management of the hotel does not like the (totally legal) service being advertiseed?

In this case, it’s the Escort Services ads that they’ve removed, but it might just as well be tattoo parlours, abortion services, divorce lawyers, gun dealers, mosques — can the management of a hotel that accepts and makes available Yellow Pages directories modify them before making them available to their guests? And if so, do they have an obligation to inform their guests of this prior to or at the time of booking?

I deleted everything on my microsd card to free up some space assuming that it would created the folders again when I inserted it back in my phone. Now it tells me it’s unformatted. What are the directories I need for it to recognize?

I want to find out where or how the sheriff departments auction off their homes at sheriff sales.
I’m interested in Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, PA & NY.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do that besides submitting it to directories?

So, I wonder has anyone experience with this? Selling in lots items on the internet? Not like ebay or amazon, where you sell just one item at a time…But like: http://liquidation.com , http://alibaba.com? At first sight it seems to me that the profits with wholeselling could be logically bigger than in the retail thing. I see even so many bids on almost every auction in Liquidation.com. As well, where I live I can find extremely cheap Cd’s to sell in lots.
I wonder as well, what are the payment procedures? Like 50% in advance, or “letter of intent”? Does the seller first ships the stuff or first get the money?

      Thanks alot!
