Mishre Directory

Posted on Tuesday, June 12th 2007 9:14 pm by menj in Directories

I just started a “new” web directory called Mishre Directory. Actually its not a new web directory. It was an existing sub-domain directory which I appended on with a domain name so that it would be branded and stand on its own. I don’t intend to make any money out of it (yet) so I am keeping the web directory free at the moment until it has a higher PR on the next Google update. Maintaining a free web directory is nothing short of a headache because I get spam links like Orlando cosmetic surgery, Cialis and Viagra and link submissions with keywords stuffing and poor descriptions.

Its fun, but still a headache.

Anyway, like I said, its a free web directory. Take advantage of the offer and submit your websites or blogs to the directory while it lasts.

Thank you for visiting Blogging For Money. If you are a new visitor, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Enjoy!

US dollar is falling down

Posted on by menj in General

Sigh…I guess good things are just not meant to last and the USD is falling down. Its not a big deal for those who are US citizens but it is for people like me, who try to earn some moola from the USD. The impact will not be felt right now but it will certainly cause a problem in the long term. After all, I am not as rich as George Lindemann.

Blogging for money in USD is still attractive even despite the weakening dollar, due to the different exchange rates between the greenback and the Ringgit. But for the same amount of work, you are being paid less, which does not excite me. I guess this means that all of us bloggers who are doing paid blogging or PPC or any of the internet activities that generate income must simply work harder to compensate for the shortfall.

Monex investments in silver

Posted on Monday, June 11th 2007 5:10 pm by menj in General

Good investments are hard to find these days but there is one investment field that has been growing since 1990, which is precious metals investing. You can invest in precious metals such as gold or silver, which may be used as long-term investment. Like gold, silver has long been regarded as a form of money and has a store of value. As an investment product, silver is available in coin or ingot form. Through an investments company such as the Monex Deposit Company, you can purchase silver and have it delivered to your home or you can arrange for it to be safeguarded at a bank or depository. There has never been a greater time to buy silver and demand is exceeding supply. Get in on getting your piece of the silver market through Monex today.

Movable Type is going open source

Posted on Wednesday, June 6th 2007 12:23 pm by menj in Internet

Or more specifically, it is Movable Type 4 which is going open source. Currently you can download the beta version of this software for evaluation purposes. I used to have MT powering my blog, back in the days when MT was given away for free. When it became too spammy to tolerate, I switched to WordPress and have been with WP ever since. I doubt that I would be switching back to MT as WP has not only features and plugins to bend it to your will, but great support and a wide variety of themes to choose from.

Seriously, who in their right mind would want to switch away from WP anyway?

Blogitive payments

Posted on by menj in Paid Blogging

I got two Blogitive payments sent to my PayPal today :) Since the implementation of their new programme, I noticed that they are no longer sending eChecks and no PayPal fees were deducted from the payments. So instead of $4.00 something (with PayPal fees deducted), you get the full $5.00 for every post instead. Yay!

Plus, I’ve been getting so many offers from Blogitive that I am swamped with them. Good, right? Not really. It means that I am going to have to plan properly and organise the time needed to tackle each job offer provided.

But I’m really happy with these new developments. I’m raking in about $120.00 per week just from Blogitive alone.
