Here is actually a good review of Nuffnang versus Advertlets, so if you want to have a comparison review between the two, just read that post. I am not sure whether it was totally a coincidence that both companies were launched several days apart from each other in the same month, but oh, well.
And in case you are wondering, I am sticking to Nuffnang at the moment as the official blog advertising network of Kerajaan MENJ (believe me, its a steadily growing empire). The ads in Advertlets may be AJAX-ified and all, but I really do not see anything in there apart from a poll. Maybe I’ll be inclined to put up Advertlets in one or two blogs once they start to roll out their advertising.

One of my major websites is now officially hosted with DataKL Hosting for their four-month free trial period. I stumbled on their website after clicking on a Google Adsense link and I was really impressed with the prices (a RM130 for 5GB per year plan) as compared to that idiotic semi-dedicated hosting plan I was subscribed to for RM1.3K for six months at 4GB. I was already thinking of hosting with them after my semi-dedicated plan expires.
Then I saw this Refugees Special package and immediately I jumped at the opportunity. All it took was to submit a support ticket to them and it took them about half an hour to transfer all the content from the old host to DataKL Hosting. Then I had to wait for two hours for the DNS nameservers to propagate and oh, my…I regret not having found them earlier. The site was twice as fast compared to before and the Cpanel is simply amazing!
I am certainly going to host with them after the four-month trial expires and its goodbye, you stupid old host!

Google TiSP. I almost fell for it until I read that part about the toilet bowl. And the wacky FAQ. And the Error 404.
Heh.

BegForPost is a “clone” (more like a parody site, I think) of the famous paid blogging network, PayPerPost. It mimics everything from PayPerPost from logo right to layout. The only difference is that advertisers have to beg for bloggers to post about them.
Kind of a wacky twist to it, methinks.

Malcolm was telling me about this domain registrar called Namecheap which supports credit/debit card payments as well as PayPal funds transfer for only USD8.88 per domain name on a yearly basis. I registered for an account and tried out the service.
Interface was intuitive and easy to use. I am happy to report that on the whole, I am very satisfied with the service. I bought two brand-new domain names with my PBB debit card and transferred ibnjuferi.net to it. It was very fast and efficient, payment was credited almost immediately. I would certainly suggest using Namecheap for your domain buying-spree needs.
Now its time to transfer some of the major domain names that I have to this new registrar….

Some of my blogs have been down since yesterday and PayPerPost rejected some of my posts. Yet another lesson that I have learned is that never to put all your eggs in one basket and make sure that your activism blog is kept separate from your revenue-generating ones…because you never know when some moron will come along and complain to your host provider simply because he/she does not like the idea of free speech.
Anyway I’m moving that blog in question to a Malaysian web host, there will be no issue of anyone complaining now since the blog is not hosted in the United States of A.
