Overture or now known as Yahoo because of Yahoo’s takeover, was the original inventor of the use of the P4P or Pay for Performance. Overture saw that the internet was fast becoming the easiest and most convenient way to shop, and advertising was going to hit at an all time high because of the many businesses in the arena. To get a person to go to a site than others, it needs to be very visible. Providing ads that could direct potential consumers and costumers to their site would allow them to have an increase in traffic as well as sales. Yahoo provides a service, for example promoting san diego dj service, that can put a site or company’s ad in their sites that can be shown when certain keywords are inputted. Yahoo offers a chance for any company to increase their traffic by using their services. With more people being aware of your site, there would be more traffic and visitors to your site given the chance to view your pages as well as your products. With even a small percentage of successful sales, with a high traffic volume this could still be a substantial figure for your company.

Experience the internet community through forums

Posted on by menj in Internet

Its amazing really when you realise that the longer you hang out online, the more you realize how small the internet community is. Sure there are millions of people online, but there are tight communities people hang in. I do run into people I know in different forums all the time, even those looking for probate advance. It is not the first time too as it happens all the time, which is actually a good thing. That is the part of doing business online. By building relationships online, you also build personal relationships with some. You share personal experiences. You help each other through good and bad times. If you have not already done so, find a good forum to hang around. There are some bad ones, but if you look, you’ll find the good ones. Just start hanging around. You’ll start to get to know the people. Then you can start participating or just jump in.

I got my Maybank VISA debit card

I recently applied and received my Maybank VISA debit card at the Maybank Kajang branch. Application was fast and despite the large number of people applying for it, I received the card within one hour. It should be noted that according to the bank, the card is not yet ready for internet transactions and this was confirmed when I tried to add the card to my PayPal account but was rejected. Despite this, the bank told me that they expect to roll out this feature “soon” and some reports say that it could be as early as June 2008.

Regardless, I do suggest that those of you who want a VISA debit card to apply early for the card to avoid the “rush” in getting the card. The card can still be used at retail outlets which support the VISA feature, I used it to buy a new monitor holder with my Maybank VISA debit card! Always useful to have another debit card handy anyway….

Various ways to monetise your traffic

Posted on Tuesday, April 1st 2008 3:28 pm by menj in Blogging, Internet Income, PPC

It is common knowledge that without traffic to our websites, we have no business. Like any business, without any customers you do not get sales. Traffic represents all the people that gets a chance to see what you have to offer, such as a website about rhinoplasty Beverly Hills, CA, for example. The more people who see your products the more people there would be to buy them. Nobody puts up an e-commerce site that does not earn any profit. We have a startup capital that needs to be regained. With a consistent traffic, we at least have a fighting chance to achieve that probability. Monetizing your traffic would optimize your chances of making the best out of it.

The best and most proven method of making a profit out of your traffic is using advertising. The internet generates hundreds of thousands upon hundred of thousands of traffic everyday. Most of them are searching for something. While some are just looking for information there is also a good percentage that is looking for something that they need. The internet has proven to be a very reliable source in finding what was deemed to be a very unsearchable product. The internet has made the world a smaller place; you can advertise a product from the depths of Istanbul and still find a buyer from the center of Philadelphia.

With the increasing popularity of blogging, it is even feared that people rely on blogs to get the latest news.

While it is true to say that getting news reports from blogs are not totally reliable, some people do look for product reviews through blogs. In some cases, this is more dependable. While it is true that some media persons are being paid to write good reviews about a certain product, blog writers write about their actual experiences on products and services from a company. Since there are many people who read and start their own blogs, blogs are a good medium to market a product. With the increasing blog traffic means increase in product sales. Blog traffic can be increased by joining affiliate programs and sites, which will list your blog under a certain search category or name. You can also have your blog advertised in popular websites. This, however, will cost some money and is not advisable if you have just started blogging.

Posted on by menj in Affiliates, Internet, Internet Income

Affiliate marketing has many descriptions, yet all have the same meaning. Affiliate marketing is a huge business piece on the Internet and not as easy as showing before and after photos of nose surgery. It is a cooperative effort between merchants and an affiliate’s website. For many years now, affiliate marketing has proved to be a cost-efficient, measurable method of delivering long-tern results. It has become famous for Internet sites who are trying to make some extra or additional income for their site. Every day, people get interested to affiliate marketing and want to make money out of it. But in many cases, these new affiliates do not fully understand the affiliate world and make costly mistakes. In other words, affiliate marketing has often been misunderstood.

One of the common misconceptions that are being associated about affiliate marketing is “selling”, though selling is an important activity of affiliate marketing and the central function of a business operation. Another is that affiliate marketing is commonly linked with “advertising”. While the importance of advertising in marketing a certain product is not to be underestimated, the fact of the matter is, advertising like selling, is merely a part of the many functions of marketing
