Malaysian company bought by Facebook

Got the news that Facebook has recently acquired a Malaysian company called Octazen Solutions. Why would they do that, I have no idea. I did not even know the existence of this company until this acquisition was announced on various tech sites. According to the meta description of the site, Octazen offers “Contact Importer and Viral Invite Scripts in PHP/Java/.NET/Ruby/CFM for Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, MySpace, Twitter, Friendster and more.” What Facebook will do with such a script is definitely unknown and is anyone’s guess.
In any case, it is always a great thing to see a Malaysan company being successful to the extent that a US giant has to own it. Their product must be very good to have been worthy of such an acquisition.
